And the day came

when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful than the risk it took

to blossom.

Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Ventura County

Overcoming life’s considerable challenges or trying to help those you love to do so, can leave anyone feeling overwhelmed and alone. We get it! We know that reaching out to others for help when you aren’t completely convinced things can get better takes true courage and a bit of a leap of faith.

We’re here because we know that if you surround people with those who believe in them wholeheartedly, give them the tools they need to help themselves. Anyone can get unstuck. We bring families, schools, and local agencies and caregivers together as a team. We collaborate on a plan that helps individuals gain confidence by achieving the goals they set for themselves.

Our entire team is committed to helping children, teens and adults to not only function well but to thrive independently at home, in school, at work and in their communities.

Thanks for visiting – and for making the leap.

What’s holding you back?

At some point, all of us get stuck.

We can get caught in a tangle of negative thoughts and feelings without knowing why, then react in ways that can keep us from moving forward. You aren’t the only one, you aren’t alone. Here are some of the behavioral and thought disorders we can help untangle.

Together.

Anger Management. Self Management. Self-Injurious Behavior. Tantrums. Bedwetting. Toileting. Anxiety Disorders. Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. Phobias. Inappropriate Sexual Behavior.

How we can help

Laurie Singer Behavioral Services specializes in behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Both therapies are based on strong scientific evidence and the understanding that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are highly interdependent. If you create positive change in one of the three, the other two change for the better as well. CBT also helps individuals challenge the automatic negative thoughts and unproductive core beliefs that can continue to create tangles in life.

Be prepared to actively engage in learning and working toward developing new ways of thinking and behaving. We take a do-more-talk-less approach that helps children, teens and adults become (or rediscover) who they are meant to be, and to do so sooner rather than later. Read more about how we help individuals help themselves by clicking the Services button below.

You’re Not Crazy

Laurie Singer’s new book You’re Not Crazy: Living with Anxiety, Obsessions and Fetishes is designed to help those who suffer deeply from anxiety and its manifestations, especially in these times of escalating mental health concerns exacerbated by the devastating pandemic.
