And the day came

when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful than the risk it took

to blossom.

How we can help

Laurie Singer Behavioral Services specializes in behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Both therapies are based on strong scientific evidence and the understanding that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are highly interdependent. If you create positive change in one of the three, the other two change for the better as well. CBT also helps individuals challenge the automatic negative thoughts and unproductive core beliefs that can continue to create tangles in life.

Be prepared to actively engage in learning and working toward developing new ways of thinking and behaving. We take a do-more-talk-less approach that helps children, teens and adults become (or rediscover) who they are meant to be, and to do so sooner rather than later. Read more about how we help individuals help themselves by clicking the Services button below.

You’re Not Crazy

Laurie Singer’s new book You’re Not Crazy: Living with Anxiety, Obsessions and Fetishes is designed to help those who suffer deeply from anxiety and its manifestations, especially in these times of escalating mental health concerns exacerbated by the devastating pandemic.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a month dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of men. It recognizes that societal expectations and gender roles often hinder men from seeking help, perpetuating a culture of silence and stigma.

* Surprisingly, men are disproportionately affected by suicide, with suicide rates significantly higher than those of women. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need to address mental health issues among men.
* Unfortunately, men are often less likely to receive a diagnosis or treatment for mental health conditions, leading to prolonged suffering and potentially worsening outcomes.
* Traditional gender roles and expectations create barriers that prevent men from seeking help, causing delays in diagnosis and treatment.

By raising awareness and promoting open conversations, Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month aims to break down these barriers and encourage men to prioritize their mental well-being. #mensmentalhealth #health #menshealth #mental #mentalhealthawareness

Climate change is making food insecurity a growing concern around the world. With rising temperatures, extended droughts, and unpredictable weather patterns, food production is taking a serious hit.

But climate-smart agriculture (think drought-resistant crops and better soil management) has the potential to increase yields by up to 30%, even in the areas most affected by climate change. By investing in these innovative practices, we can create food systems that are more resilient and capable of feeding our ever-growing populations, even when climate challenges arise.

Women play a crucial role in this transformation, producing up to 80% of the food in many developing countries. By empowering women farmers with access to resources, training, and markets, we can not only boost food production but also strengthen local economies.

Together, we can plant the seeds for a more resilient future—one where farmers are equipped to adapt to a changing climate, and communities can thrive despite the challenges they face. Let’s work together to make this vision a reality!
