The CDC’s first study on the use of behavioral therapy, medication and dietary supplements for ADHD in children notes that less than half of children with ADHD were receiving behavior therapy in 2009-2010, and suggests a team approach to to treating the condition: “Treatment decisions for ADHD in children can be complex. Parents, health professionals, psychologists, and educators can work together to ensure that children receive the best treatment available.”

Interesting, and heartening, to note in the infographic below that California treatment patterns include the lowest percentage rates of medication use and the highest rates of behavioral therapy. You can read the summary and the link to the full study here.
